Natural disasters can strike anywhere, making emergency preparation extremely important. Tornadoes, in particular, can destroy entire homes within minutes, which is why having a safe shelter can save lives.
When a powerful storm hit town, Gage Evans urged his dad, Jordan Evans, to help his mom because her house had no basement. Thankfully, the family had a prefab underground bunker in the yard.
Justin Pointer, Gage’s stepfather, quickly got the entire family — including their dogs — safely inside the shelter, where they were able to ride out the tornado unharmed.
Underground storm shelters come in different sizes and are designed to protect families during severe weather. Many include sealed doors and safety features, offering a secure place during dangerous storms.
