Ann Robinson, best known for starring in the 1953 sci-fi classic The War of the Worlds, has died at the age of 96.
Born in Hollywood, California, Robinson began acting in the early 1950s and rose to fame playing Sylvia Van Buren alongside Gene Barry in the influential alien invasion film directed by Byron Haskin.
She later appeared in popular TV shows like Dragnet, Perry Mason, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Though she never became a major Hollywood star, she remained beloved among sci-fi fans and frequently attended conventions celebrating classic cinema.
Robinson also returned to the franchise in later adaptations, including a cameo in War of the Worlds directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise.
She passed away on Sept. 26 at her home in Los Angeles, leaving behind a lasting legacy in science-fiction film history.
