The long-delayed $499 gold-colored Trump Mobile “T1” phone has finally launched after months of preorder delays. Originally promoted as “Made in America,” the company later changed the wording to say it was “designed with American values in mind.”
However, buyers quickly noticed an awkward mistake on the phone’s American flag design — it appears to show only 11 stripes instead of the official 13. The error sparked criticism and questions about where the device was actually made.
Trump Mobile says the phone is assembled in the US with mostly American-made parts, though experts claim it closely resembles a smartphone produced in Taiwan. Despite the controversy and delays, the company says demand for the T1 has been strong.
