Aimee Lou Wood grew up struggling with severe shyness, bullying, eating disorders, and low self-esteem, partly due to comments about her teeth and a difficult home life. Later diagnosed with ADHD and autistic traits, she explained that her neurodivergence helped her understand many of her childhood struggles.
Despite years of bullying, especially about her appearance, drama classes helped her gain confidence. After studying at RADA, she rose to fame through the Netflix series Sex Education and later The White Lotus.
Although Hollywood and social media continued focusing on her teeth, Aimee refused to change herself to fit beauty standards. She became known as a role model for embracing individuality, proving that success comes from talent, resilience, and confidence rather than “perfection.”
