Douglas Shepp McCain, the eldest son of late Senator John McCain, has died suddenly at the age of 66. His sister, Meghan McCain, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram post, describing him as a joyful and supportive man who brought humor and warmth everywhere he went.
Douglas was born in Florida, served in the Navy, and later became a captain for American Airlines. Though he mostly stayed out of the public spotlight, he occasionally supported his father during political campaigns.
He is survived by his wife Ashley, their children, and grandson Teddy. A memorial gathering will be held on May 30 in Virginia Beach.
