Mel Schilling, the beloved relationship expert from Married at First Sight Australia, has sadly passed away at the age of 54 after a long battle with cancer.
Her husband, Gareth Brisbane, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram post, revealing that Mel died peacefully surrounded by love. He described her as a devoted mother, soulmate, and incredibly strong woman who never stopped showing courage and compassion, even during years of chemotherapy.
Schilling publicly revealed in 2023 that she had been diagnosed with colon cancer, later sharing that the disease had spread to her lungs. Despite her health battle, she continued filming and inspiring viewers around the world.
Best known as the trusted dating expert on Married at First Sight Australia and the U.K. edition, Mel became one of reality TV’s most respected and loved personalities.
