Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital Friday morning after reportedly feeling unwell. The 86-year-old was transported by ambulance and is currently recovering.
Authorities confirmed deputies responded to a medical request and assisted paramedics at the scene.
Sedaka, known for timeless hits like “Oh! Carol,” “Calendar Girl,” “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen,” and “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do,” became one of the biggest pop stars of the 1960s. He later enjoyed a successful comeback in the 1970s with support from artists like Elton John.
Over his six-decade career, Sedaka sold millions of records worldwide and remained a beloved figure in pop music. He has been married to his wife, Leba Strassberg, since 1962, and they share two children.
