A devastating car crash in Georgia has left a husband mourning the unimaginable loss of his entire family — his wife, Reagan Dougan, and their four young children — as communities in North Carolina and Florida grieve together.
On April 6, 2025, Reagan, 27, was driving her kids — ages 9, 4, 2, and 3 months — down I-95 South in McIntosh County, Georgia, to meet her husband, Christian, in Florida. Their rented SUV collided with another vehicle and burst into flames, killing them all at the scene. The other driver survived.
Authorities say the SUV struck a white Infiniti at high speed before hitting the center guardrail. The crash shut down the highway for hours and remains under investigation.
Friends and neighbors remember Reagan as a loving, devoted mother who lit up every room she entered. Her friend “Jonesy” described her as someone whose dream was to raise a happy family. “Her kids were everything to her.”
In Raleigh, where the family had recently moved, neighbors recalled the children playing joyfully in the yard. A GoFundMe launched by Christian’s stepmother has raised over $88,000 to help cover funeral costs and bring the family to their final resting place in Florida.
Photographer Katrina Cusatis, who captured the family’s maternity photos, wrote, “Their love, joy, and connection were truly unforgettable.”
Though gone too soon, the Dougan family’s warmth and love continue to touch everyone they knew.
