King Charles III Briefly Hospitalized Amid Cancer Treatment
King Charles III, 76, was briefly hospitalized due to temporary side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment, prompting him to cancel public appearances, including a planned trip to Birmingham. He was discharged the same day after precautionary observation at the London Clinic.
The Palace emphasized it’s not a major health crisis, calling it “a minor bump in the road.” Charles, diagnosed earlier in 2024, has been avoiding royal duties during recovery. Despite privacy around his condition, sources assure the public he’s progressing well.
Queen Camilla did not accompany him to the hospital, as she’s also faced recent health issues, including pneumonia earlier this year. Prince William noted his father’s strength, saying Charles is “fighting very hard.”
Despite this setback, Charles is expected to resume plans for an April 7–10 state visit to Italy, where he’ll become the first British monarch to address both houses of Italy’s parliament.
