Remembering John Hillerman (1932–2017): The Distinguished Gentleman Behind Higgins!

John Hillerman, best known for playing Jonathan Quayle Higgins III in the hit TV series Magnum, P.I., passed away on November 9, 2017, at the age of 84.

Born in Denison, Texas, Hillerman became famous for portraying the refined British Higgins so convincingly that many viewers believed he was actually British. His chemistry with Tom Selleck helped make Magnum, P.I. a television classic, earning Hillerman both an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

Beyond Magnum, P.I., he enjoyed a successful career in film and television, gaining respect for his versatility, professionalism, and ability to bring depth to every role.

After retiring, Hillerman lived a quiet life away from Hollywood. Though he passed away in 2017, his memorable performances and beloved portrayal of Higgins continue to entertain audiences around the world, securing his place in television history.
