“Mom, we’re leaving for Europe tomorrow. I already…!

Posted on June 4, 2026 By admin

While sitting in a doctor’s waiting room, I received a call from my only daughter, Angelica. After my husband’s death, she had been calling and visiting often, making me believe grief had brought us closer.

But when I answered, her voice was cold. She said, “Mom, we’re leaving for Europe tomorrow. I already sold your beach house and your car. We needed the money. Bye.”

Before I could respond, she hung up. I sat frozen in shock, surrounded by strangers who had no idea my world had just been shattered. For months after losing my husband, I had cried over everything, but this betrayal cut deeper than I ever imagined.
