Many people get tattoos to express their individuality, while others are strongly against them. Kerstin Tristan used to be in the latter group—until 2015, when everything changed.
Now 56, the German mother and grandmother is covered head to toe in tattoos, a passion she only discovered later in life. Before 2015, she actually hated tattoos, but getting her first one completely changed her perspective.
“I just wanted to try something new. We only live once,” she shared.
Since then, she’s spent around €30,000 (about $32,000) on her body art, gaining over 190,000 Instagram followers and millions of TikTok views along the way. She proudly shows off her transformation online, often posting side-by-side photos from before her tattoo journey.
Her body is now adorned with vibrant roses, leopard prints, and detailed portraits—tattoos she says make her feel beautiful. “When I look in the mirror, I see a meadow full of flowers,” she says.
Fans agree, calling her a “beautiful work of art.” Kerstin proves that self-expression has no age limit.
