Authorities investigating the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie have issued a separate alert for a kidnapping suspect wanted just miles from her Arizona home.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is searching for 40-year-old Coral Michelle Smith in connection with a kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon that occurred on May 29 near Tucson, about seven miles from Guthrie’s residence.
Police said there is currently no known link between Smith and Guthrie’s disappearance, which occurred on Feb. 1.
Smith has a long criminal history, including prior convictions for robbery, assault, vehicle theft, trespassing, and disorderly conduct, with multiple prison sentences over the years. She is also reported to have used several aliases.
Authorities describe her as 5’6”, about 136 pounds, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and distinctive tattoos.
