A Miami-area real estate agent, her two daughters, and the girls’ father were found dead from stab wounds inside a South Florida home in what investigators are treating as a possible murder-suicide.
Authorities said the victims were discovered during a welfare check in Doral, Florida. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed all four died from stab wounds and said the case remains under investigation, pending autopsy results.
The victims were identified as real estate agent Melanie Hyer, 46, her daughters, 11 and 8, and their father, Ryan Charles Whiten, 42. Officials said they are working closely with the medical examiner to determine the exact circumstances.
Community members and local officials have expressed shock and grief as the investigation continues.
