‘Ted Lasso’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Star Dies at 72

Anthony Head, the British actor best known for his roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Ted Lasso, has died at the age of 72. His daughters, Emily Head and Daisy Head, confirmed that he passed away peacefully from complications related to pneumonia while surrounded by family.

Head gained international recognition as Rupert Giles, Buffy Summers’ trusted mentor in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and later won over a new generation of fans as Rupert Mannion in Ted Lasso. Throughout a career spanning more than four decades, he also appeared in productions including The Iron Lady, Merlin, Doctor Who, and numerous West End stage performances.

He is survived by his daughters, actresses Emily Head and Daisy Head, and his brother, actor and singer Murray Head.
