When Eric got down on one knee and proposed to me…

Posted on June 18, 2026 By admin

Sarah thought saying yes to Eric’s proposal meant marrying the love of her life. Instead, she discovered his family’s shocking “wife test” tradition.

At their engagement dinner, Eric’s mother, Martha, announced that Sarah would have to prove she was worthy of joining the family by completing a list of household tasks, including cooking, cleaning, ironing, and hosting a tea party. The other wives had all done it and expected Sarah to do the same.

When Sarah refused, explaining that marriage should be built on respect and equality—not outdated gender roles—Eric sided with his family and urged her to go along with it. Hurt and humiliated, Sarah left and put the wedding on hold.

Although Eric and Martha later apologized, Sarah realized the biggest issue wasn’t the test itself—it was that Eric failed to stand up for her. Now, she must decide whether their relationship can survive unless he finally breaks the family’s toxic tradition.
