A tragic hiking accident in northern Italy has drawn worldwide attention after a 30-year-old man, Andrea Mazzetto, fell to his death shortly after taking a selfie with his girlfriend.
The couple had been hiking near the Altar Knotto rock formation in Rotzo when they paused to take a smiling photo together. Moments later, Andrea reportedly dropped his phone and, while trying to retrieve it, lost his footing and fell around 650 feet down a cliff.
Emergency crews responded quickly but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The final image, later described by his girlfriend as a “cursed last photo,” has since spread widely online, serving as a heartbreaking reminder of how suddenly life can change.
