Hollywood has lost one of its last Golden Age stars. Academy Award-nominated actress Ann Blyth, best known for playing Veda Pierce in the 1945 classic Mildred Pierce, has died at 98 of natural causes, just weeks before her 99th birthday.
Blyth became a star at just 16 and earned an Oscar nomination for her unforgettable role alongside Joan Crawford. She later appeared in films including The Great Caruso and Brute Force, as well as TV shows like The Twilight Zone and Murder, She Wrote.
Remembered for her kindness, devotion to family, and love of painting and gardening, Blyth leaves behind an enduring legacy as one of Hollywood’s final Golden Age icons.
