Beloved British actress Dame Penelope Keith has passed away at the age of 86.
Best known for her iconic roles in The Good Life and To the Manor Born, Keith died peacefully at her home in Surrey after living with cancer, her family confirmed. They thanked everyone who cared for her and requested privacy during this difficult time.
Born in 1940, Keith became one of Britain’s most celebrated television stars, winning a BAFTA for her unforgettable portrayal of Margo Leadbetter. She also enjoyed a distinguished stage career with the Royal Shakespeare Company, earned an Olivier Award, and was made a Dame in 2014 for her contributions to drama and charity.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Timson, and their two adopted sons.
