Teenage twin brothers Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, 19, from Georgia, were found dead in March 2025 at Bell Mountain in Hiawassee. They were discovered by hikers on March 8, both with gunshot wounds.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) initially considered a possible murder-suicide but later concluded the injuries were self-inflicted.
After an independent review of the case, the family has now accepted the ruling. Their aunt said they consulted independent investigators and autopsy reviews before reaching this painful conclusion.
The family also shared that support from donations helped cover burial costs, investigations, and grief counseling. They have since focused on honoring the twins and raising awareness about mental health.
