Former New York Jets quarterback Browning Nagle has died at the age of 57 after battling colon cancer, according to the New York Post.
Nagle was selected by the Jets with the 34th overall pick in the 1991 NFL Draft, just one pick after Brett Favre. Before entering the NFL, he starred at the University of Louisville, earning MVP honors in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl after leading his team to a victory over Alabama.
He spent three seasons with the Jets before later playing for the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons. During his NFL career, Nagle started 14 games, throwing eight touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
After retiring from football, Nagle stayed largely out of the public eye and is remembered by fans and teammates for his contributions to the game.
