‘Sanford and Son’ Star Hal Williams Dies at 91

“Sanford and Son” and “227” actor Hal Williams has died at the age of 91. He passed away Wednesday at his home in Rancho Mirage, California, of natural causes. Williams enjoyed a career spanning nearly six decades, earning fame as Officer “Smitty” Smith on Sanford and Son and Lester Jenkins on 227. He is survived by two children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
