William Shatner and his daughter Melanie revealed they were battling Stage 4 cancer at the same time, turning one of the hardest periods of their lives into a story of strength and support.
Melanie discovered a lump that turned out to be HER2-positive breast cancer. She went through chemotherapy, radiation, and a double mastectomy. While she was finishing treatment, Shatner found a lump on his cheek that was later diagnosed as Stage 4 malignant melanoma that had spread to his lungs and brain.
Despite the diagnosis, Shatner stayed positive and continued working while receiving treatment. He also supported his daughter, helping with her medical bills and encouraging her through difficult moments.
After years of treatment, both father and daughter were declared cancer-free in late 2024.
At 95, Shatner says he feels healthier than ever and remains active. The two say their journey reminded them that family, hope, and the right medical care can make all the difference.
