One week after moving into our new home, I received a strange call at 9:17 p.m.
The man on the phone didn’t introduce himself. He only said:
“I forgot to disconnect the living room camera.”
Then came the words that made my heart stop.
“I saw what your father and brother did while you were on base.”
I froze.
Before I could respond, he added:
“Don’t tell anyone. Come see me alone.”
I stood in my new kitchen surrounded by unopened boxes, trying to understand what I had just heard.
The caller was Mark—the previous owner of the house. A quiet man who had seemed relieved to move on.
But now he was telling me he had seen something happening inside my home while I was away.
And suddenly, my new house didn’t feel safe anymore.
