My mom’s first flight after cancer treatment was supposed to be peaceful.
I booked her a window seat because she always loved watching the clouds. After six months of hospitals, treatments, and uncertainty, this trip meant everything.
She was nervous, so I kept talking to make her smile.
Then a man across the aisle snapped:
“Keep it down or get out!”
Everyone looked at us. I apologized, but he demanded we be moved.
A flight attendant came over and asked for my mom’s boarding pass.
The moment she read it, her expression changed.
She looked toward the cockpit and whispered:
“Captain… you need to come out here. Right now.”
A few moments later, the captain walked over, looked at my mom, and said:
“Mrs. Parker… your husband left something for you.”
