Larry the Cable Guy Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Medical Scare

Posted on July 31, 2026 By admin

Larry the Cable Guy is recovering after emergency surgery for appendicitis forced him to pause production on his upcoming CBS comedy series.

The 63-year-old comedian, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was rushed to a hospital in Nebraska on July 23 after suffering severe stomach pain. Doctors performed an emergency appendectomy, and he was released home two days later.

Larry reassured fans that he is “all good” and joked about his recovery while thanking everyone for their support. He said he was sore but doing well.

The health scare temporarily delayed filming of his new show, “American Mayhem,” but production is expected to resume soon.

Known for his “Git-R-Done!” catchphrase and his role as Mater in Pixar’s Cars, Larry remains focused on recovery and returning to comedy.
