Larry the Cable Guy Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Health Scare

Posted on July 31, 2026 By admin

Comedian Larry the Cable Guy is recovering after undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis, a health scare that temporarily paused production of his upcoming CBS comedy series.

The 63-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was rushed to a Nebraska hospital on July 23 with severe stomach pain. Doctors diagnosed appendicitis and performed an emergency appendectomy.

After spending two days in the hospital, Larry returned home and reassured fans that he’s doing well. Staying true to his humor, he joked that while he was sore, his recovery was going smoothly and thanked everyone for their support.

Filming for his new CBS series, American Mayhem, has been temporarily delayed but is expected to resume soon as Larry continues recovering.
