Music legend Huey Lewis is opening up about life after being diagnosed with Ménière’s disease, a condition that caused severe hearing loss and changed his career forever.
The 76-year-old singer, known for hits with Huey Lewis and the News and songs featured in movies like Back to the Future, revealed that he is now “basically deaf” and can no longer enjoy music the way he once did.
Although hearing aids and a cochlear implant help him understand people, music sounds distorted because he cannot hear pitch correctly.
Lewis says he misses performing, but he has found peace through fishing, spending time outdoors and appreciating a new chapter of life away from the stage.
