‘Superman’ Star Dies at 82

Valerie Perrine, the actress who became famous as Eve Teschmacher in Superman (1978), has passed away at 82.

Her death certificate states that she died from acute cardiopulmonary arrest, with Parkinson’s disease—diagnosed in 2015—and dementia listed as contributing conditions.

Her friend Stacey Souther shared the heartbreaking news, saying Perrine passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2026, after more than 15 years of bravely battling health challenges.

Perrine first gained recognition for her role as Honey Bruce in Lenny (1974), earning an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. She later became a fan favorite as Superman’s memorable companion Eve Teschmacher.

Throughout her career, she appeared in films and television shows that made her a beloved figure in Hollywood.

Valerie Perrine leaves behind a legacy of unforgettable performances and a career that inspired many. ❤️
