Hollywood Mourns: Oscar-Nominated Actress Diane Ladd Dies at 89

Hollywood is mourning the loss of legendary actress Diane Ladd, who has died at the age of 89.

Ladd, best known for her powerful performances in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Wild at Heart, and Rambling Rose, was a three-time Academy Award nominee during a remarkable career spanning decades.

Her daughter, Oscar-winning actress Laura Dern, confirmed the heartbreaking news, saying she was by her mother’s side in her final moments at their home in Ojai, California.

“My amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother,” Dern wrote, describing Ladd as an extraordinary mother, grandmother, actress, and artist.

The two shared a rare Hollywood bond, becoming the first and only mother-daughter pair nominated for Academy Awards for the same film in the same year for Rambling Rose.

Beyond acting, Diane Ladd was remembered as a fearless artist who continued working well into her 80s.

She leaves behind a powerful legacy in film and a lifetime of unforgettable performances.

Rest in peace, Diane Ladd. 🎬❤️
