Rising Track Star Dies Suddenly at 21

Australian athletics is mourning the sudden death of 21-year-old runner Natasha Ward, whose passing has left teammates, competitors and fans heartbroken. Announced on July 30 by NSW Athletics and the Sutherland District Athletics Club, Ward was remembered not only for her talent in the 400m, 800m and 1500m events, but for her kindness, positivity and the joy she brought to others.

A talented middle-distance athlete, Ward earned medals at school championships, represented Macquarie University, and recently won bronze in the 800m at the UniSport Nationals. Friends and fellow runners described her as a dedicated teammate with a bright smile and unforgettable personality. Her cause of death has not been publicly revealed
