Jon Cypher, ‘Hill Street Blues’ Star, Dies at 94
Jon Cypher, the veteran actor best known as Chief Fletcher Daniels on Hill Street Blues, has died at 94.
Cypher passed away peacefully at his home in Oregon on August 3, with his wife of 40 years, author Carol Rosin, by his side. No cause of death was given.
His career spanned more than five decades across television, film, and Broadway. He also appeared in Cinderella, Bonanza, Dynasty, Murder, She Wrote, Law & Order, and many other productions.
Beyond acting, Cypher loved opera and could sing in four languages.
He will be buried August 11 at Forest Conservation Burial Ground in Ashland, Oregon, beneath the trees and wrapped in a biodegradable shroud, honoring his wish to return to nature.
