Six Years After My Husband and Sons Vanished, We Found His Phone
Six years ago, my husband Daniel took our three sons on their annual fishing trip.
Before they left, I took a picture of the four of them.
It was the last time I ever saw them.
They never came home.
Police found Daniel’s truck and empty boat trailer near the marina. Their damaged boat was later discovered on the opposite shore, but no bodies were ever found.
Authorities concluded it was a boating accident.
But I never believed it.
Daniel was extremely careful. He checked the weather constantly and knew that lake better than anyone.
For six years, I raised our three daughters while keeping my husband and sons’ belongings untouched.
Then my oldest daughter, Sophie, convinced me it was time to start packing their things.
That’s when she found something that changed everything.
Daniel’s old phone.
He had told me he’d lost it years earlier.
Sophie charged it.
A few minutes later, she came running into the kitchen.
“Mom… there’s a video.”
“What kind?”
“It was recorded the day before they disappeared.”
She looked terrified.
Then she showed me the screen.
Daniel was in his garage, preparing the fishing equipment.
But someone else was standing behind him.
His brother, Dean.
I stared at the screen.
“Why was Dean there?”
Sophie shook her head.
“That’s not even the worst part.”
She pressed play.
Daniel was talking about the fishing trip when he suddenly said something that made my blood run cold:
“Come with us.”
For six years, I had been told the boys and Daniel died in an accident.
Now, for the first time, we had a reason to question everything.
And the video was only the beginning.
