Legendary Radio Actress Peggy Webber Dies at 100
Peggy Webber, the legendary radio actress whose voice was heard by millions, has died at 100.
Webber passed away on August 15 at an independent living facility in Napa, California, from natural causes, according to her son, Rob Sinskey.
Born in 1925, Webber began her radio career at just 12 years old. By the 1940s, she had performed hundreds of characters across thousands of broadcasts.
Her credits included The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and a radio adaptation of Casablanca, where she played Ilsa.
She later worked with Hollywood legends including Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock, appearing in Macbeth, The Wrong Man, and The Screaming Skull.
Radio remained her lifelong passion. In 1984, she founded California Artists Radio Theatre and continued working well into her 90s.
After nearly seven decades in entertainment, Webber leaves behind an extraordinary legacy.
