Larry the Cable Guy Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Frightening Medical Emergency.

Posted on August 21, 2026 By admin

Larry the Cable Guy is recovering after emergency surgery for appendicitis, temporarily delaying production of his upcoming CBS comedy series.

The 63-year-old comedian, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was rushed to an emergency room in Lincoln, Nebraska, on July 23 after experiencing severe stomach pain. Doctors diagnosed him with appendicitis and performed an emergency appendectomy.

He spent two days in the hospital before returning home on July 25.

Larry reassured fans that he was “all good” and recovering well. Staying true to his comedic style, he joked about being sore while thanking everyone for their support.

The emergency surgery temporarily halted filming of his upcoming CBS show, American Mayhem, but production is expected to resume later this month.

Best known for his “Git-R-Done!” catchphrase and his role as Mater in Pixar’s Cars, Larry remains focused on recovering before returning to work.
