Dolly’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her passing on social media Tuesday, August 25, describing it as a moment filled with both pride and heartbreak.
Her team later confirmed that Dolly died following a brief battle with cancer, though the type of cancer was not revealed.
Miley Cyrus, who had known Dolly since birth, shared a deeply personal message on Instagram.
“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,” Miley wrote.
