A Wisconsin community is mourning the heartbreaking death of 17-year-old high school football player Adam J. Massman, who died two days after being injured during a game.
Adam, a senior quarterback at Lincoln Junior/Senior High School, suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit during a game on Aug. 20. Emergency workers rushed to help him before he was taken to the hospital, but he died on Aug. 22.
His mother described Adam as much more than an athlete. He played football, basketball, baseball and golf, competed in track, and was passionate about showing cattle.
His family remembers him as a hardworking son, brother and friend who cared deeply about others.
A fundraiser was created to support the family, with many people from the community coming together after the tragedy.
His loved ones hope Adam will be remembered not only for how he died, but for how he lived—with kindness, determination and hope.
Rest in peace, Adam. 🕊️💔
