Rising Golf Star Dies at 18 After Sudden Emergency

Posted on September 3, 2026 By admin

Australian golfer Jessica Bang has died at just 18 after suffering a devastating brain hemorrhage in Thailand.

Bang collapsed suddenly on August 1 while preparing for the KLPGA Tour’s International Qualifying Tournament in Bangkok. She was rushed to hospital, underwent emergency brain surgery, and was placed on life support.

Her family launched a fundraiser to cover her medical expenses and hoped to bring her home to Australia. Despite an outpouring of support, Bang died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, less than two weeks after her collapse.

The WPGA Tour of Australasia confirmed her death, offering condolences to her family, friends, and the Australian golf community.

Bang had only just begun her professional career and was considered a promising young talent. In February 2026, she won the Ford Women’s NSW Regional Qualifying tournament at Moss Vale—reportedly just her fifth professional start.

She was preparing for what was supposed to be another major step in her career.

Instead, the 18-year-old’s life was tragically cut short.

A young athlete with so much promise, gone far too soon.
