Former NFL Star Dies at 36

Posted on September 6, 2026 By admin

Former NFL All-Pro pass rusher Aldon Smith has reportedly died at 36.

The San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him seventh overall in 2011, mourned the loss of a player once considered one of the NFL’s brightest defensive stars.

Smith recorded 14 sacks as a rookie and 19.5 sacks the following season, earning Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors.

His promising career was later overshadowed by legal and personal struggles, though he made a comeback with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020.

Aldon Smith’s story was one of incredible talent, immense potential and personal hardship.

Rest in peace, Aldon Smith. 🕊️🏈
