Metal Guitarist Died Suddenly at 48 During a Wrestling Match 💔
Andrew “Andy” Williams, the longtime guitarist of Every Time I Die and professional wrestler known as The Butcher, has died at 48.
Williams suffered a medical emergency during an independent wrestling event in Pennsylvania on September 5. He collapsed near the end of a match and received CPR before being rushed to a nearby hospital.
His death was later confirmed by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. His official cause of death has not yet been released.
Williams was known to two very different worlds.
He helped shape Every Time I Die as a founding member and rhythm guitarist, appearing on all nine of the band’s studio albums.
Later, he reinvented himself as professional wrestler The Butcher, teaming with The Blade and performing for All Elite Wrestling.
Even after Every Time I Die broke up, Williams continued making music with his band Atomic Rule.
Just hours before his collapse, he had appeared in a video discussing the band’s new music and future plans.
Tributes quickly poured in from both the wrestling and music communities.
Fans remembered Williams not only for his intimidating presence, but for his humor, kindness and support for others.
A guitarist. A wrestler. A man who built two remarkable careers—and left a lasting mark on both worlds. ❤️
