My SIL’s Kids Broke My $2,000 TV — Then I Heard Her Say, “Good Job.” So I Taught Her a Lesson

Posted on September 10, 2026 By admin

My sister-in-law’s kids destroyed my brand-new $2,000 TV. I thought it was an accident—until I overheard what she told them. 😳

My husband and I had saved for six months to buy an 85-inch TV after renovating our home.

During his birthday dinner, Rachel’s two sons were playing nearby when a soccer ball smashed the screen.

Rachel immediately blamed us.

“They’re just kids. Why should I pay? You should’ve put the TV somewhere safer.”

I was hurt, but I decided to let it go.

Then, while getting cleaning supplies, I overheard Rachel whispering to her sons:

“Good job. That’s exactly what you were supposed to do. I’ll buy you whatever toys you want.”

My heart dropped.

It wasn’t an accident. Rachel had told her children to destroy our TV.

So I confronted her and finally stopped swallowing years of insults just to “keep the peace.”

Then I canceled something Rachel had been counting on—her upcoming birthday party at our house, which I had organized and paid the deposit for.

Minutes later, my phone rang.

“Candace, please! Cancel it. Anything but this!”

For once, I didn’t rescue her from the consequences of her own actions.
