My Friend’s Son Pointed at My Husband and Said, “THAT’S DADDY!” — Then We Discovered Who He Really Meant
After spending the day at an amusement park, Nancy and I stopped for ice cream with our kids.
I was showing her vacation photos when her 5-year-old son suddenly pointed at my husband.
“THAT’S DADDY!”
Nancy quickly corrected him, but he wouldn’t change his story.
“He came last week. He brought me a teddy bear.”
Then he looked directly at a photo of my husband and whispered:
“He told me not to tell.”
We were both confused and worried.
My husband had been with me and our daughter the entire vacation.
The next day, Nancy showed her son a photo of one of their new neighbors.
His face lit up.
“THAT’S HIM! THE MAN WITH THE TEDDY BEAR!”
The mystery was finally solved.
The neighbor had delivered a package containing the exact teddy bear Nancy had ordered for her son.
We couldn’t help but laugh.
Sometimes, a child’s words can make an innocent misunderstanding sound like something much more frightening.
