My Husband Told Me to Lose Weight or He’d Leave—After I Lost 85 Pounds, I Planned a Night He Never Expected

My Husband Told Me to Lose 85 Pounds—Then I Used Our Wedding Hotel to End Our Marriage

Four months after giving birth, Ryan told me my body had become a problem.

“If you keep letting yourself go, I’ll have no choice but to leave.”

I was exhausted, waking up multiple times every night with our baby while Ryan slept through most of it.

But his words stayed with me.

So I started walking with the stroller, exercising when the baby slept, and changing my eating habits.

Eventually, I lost 85 pounds.

But something else changed too.

I returned to work, saw my friends again, bought clothes I actually liked, and stopped needing Ryan’s approval.

Then he suddenly became affectionate.

“You look like the woman I married again.”

At his company party, his coworkers complimented me, and Ryan proudly showed me off.

But I noticed a woman watching him.

Her name was Hannah.

A few days later, she contacted me.

She told me she had been seeing Ryan for six months.

He had told her our marriage was basically over and that he was only staying because of the baby.

She showed me messages, dates, and reservations.

We compared everything.

Then I invited Ryan to a romantic night at the hotel where we’d spent our wedding night.

He thought I was finally giving him the romantic evening he wanted.

During dinner, he raised his glass.

“Sometimes people need tough motivation. I knew you’d thank me eventually.”

I smiled.

“Actually, I have something for you.”

A waiter brought a large black box tied with a white ribbon.

Ryan opened it.

Inside were divorce papers, restaurant bills, and evidence connecting him to Hannah.

His face went pale.

Then Hannah stepped out from behind him.

“Surprise.”

Ryan stared between us.

“You two met?”

Hannah smiled.

“We compared notes.”

Ryan demanded to know how we could do this to him.

I simply picked up my purse.

“You were right, Ryan. I needed to change.”

He looked hopeful.

Then I finished:

“I just didn’t need to change for you.”

And I walked away.
