My Husband Kept Showing Off Shirtless to My Sister—So I Gave Him a Miniature Version of Himself
My husband Greg had recently lost nearly 45 pounds and gotten into great shape.
I was proud of him.
But after my sister Brittany started visiting more often for our small business, Greg developed a strange habit.
He kept appearing in the kitchen shirtless whenever she was there.
The first time, I ignored it.
The second time, I asked him to put on a shirt.
He laughed.
“Come on. Let someone besides you see how good I look now. She doesn’t get to see men like me every day.”
I told him Brittany wasn’t there to admire him.
He ignored me.
A few days later, he did it again.
This time, he walked into the kitchen, flexed, and told Brittany:
“You’ll probably never meet another man my age with a body like mine. You’re lucky to have a brother-in-law like this.”
That was my final straw.
I smiled.
“You’re right, honey. I’ll be back in three minutes. I forgot to give you something.”
I went upstairs and returned carrying a small box.
Greg looked excited.
“What is this?”
“Open it.”
Inside was a miniature cardboard version of Greg himself—shirtless, flexing, with a speech bubble above his head:
“GO AHEAD. ADMIRE ME.”
Brittany immediately started laughing.
Greg stared at it.
“What on earth is this?”
“You.”
Then I showed him the second item: a mockup for a full-size cardboard version of him that could be placed in the lobby of his gym.
His face changed instantly.
“No! How could you? Cancel it right now, please!”
“Why?”
“Because it’s humiliating!”
I pointed at the miniature.
“Funny. That’s exactly how Brittany felt.”
He finally understood.
Brittany admitted she hadn’t been impressed—she’d actually felt uncomfortable every time he did it.
Greg looked at her.
“I’m sorry.”
Then he put on his shirt.
And from that day forward, the shirt stayed on.
The funniest part?
Greg kept the little cardboard version of himself.
He said it would remind him of the lesson.
