Former President Joe Biden Diagnosed with Aggressive Prostate Cancer
Joe Biden, 82, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, according to a statement from his personal office. The diagnosis came after a recent evaluation of a prostate nodule and increasing urinary symptoms. His cancer has a Gleason score of 9, indicating a severe and fast-growing form, though it appears hormone-sensitive and manageable.
Biden and his family are reviewing treatment options. The news comes amid ongoing concerns about his health and age, which intensified following a poor debate performance in 2024 that led to his withdrawal from the presidential race.
Despite signs of decline reported in a new book, Biden recently dismissed claims of cognitive issues in a May appearance on The View, saying, “There is nothing to sustain that.”
Leaders from both parties, including Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, extended well wishes for Biden’s recovery. Harris emphasized, “Joe is a fighter.”
