Weddings often bring tears of joy, and four-year-old Gage learned that firsthand when his dad, US Marine Sgt. Joshua Newville, married Senior Airman Emily Leehan in Ripley, New York.
Gage was holding it together until Leehan began reading wedding vows written just for him. As she said, “I want you to be safe, try your hardest, and be a good person,” Gage broke down in tears and hugged her tightly.
Leehan continued through tears: “You are smart, kind, and have helped shape who I am. I may not have given you life, but life gave me you.”
The heartfelt moment brought tears to everyone—including the bride and groom—and Gage ended up stealing the show. Though the newlyweds returned to active duty at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst instead of a honeymoon, their unforgettable ceremony left a lasting impression.
