Beloved Actor Harris Yulin Dies at 87
The entertainment world is mourning Harris Yulin, the acclaimed stage and screen actor, who died June 10 in New York City from cardiac arrest. He was 87.
Known for his fiery role in Ghostbusters II, Yulin’s decades-long career included standout performances in Scarface, Clear and Present Danger, Training Day, and a 1996 Emmy-nominated role in Frasier. He also appeared in Ozark, Veep, Billions, and more.
Beyond film and TV, the Los Angeles native was a theater force—playing Hamlet three times and teaching at Juilliard for eight years.
Yulin had been preparing to star in American Classic with Laura Linney and Kevin Kline. Director Michael Hoffman called him “one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered.”
He is survived by his wife, actress Kristen Lowman, and several family members. He was predeceased by his daughter, actress Claire Lucido.
