When Patricia Clarke became pregnant in 1983, she suspected her baby would be big—large babies ran in her family. But nothing prepared her for Kevin Robert Clark, who was born weighing over 16 pounds. He became the biggest baby ever born at Community Memorial Hospital, possibly even in all of New Jersey.
Too big for standard cribs and clothes, Kevin was thankfully healthy. His extraordinary size quickly made headlines, earning mentions on “Good Morning America” and even a spoof on “Saturday Night Live.”
Kevin kept growing—by age 12, he was 5’7″; in junior high, 6’5″. Eventually, he reached 6’9″. Now 35, the former military man lives with his 6-foot-tall wife and their Great Dane.
Asked about his height, Kevin jokes: “I’m 5-foot-21.” Despite growing up in the spotlight, he embraces his size with humor and confidence. We wish him all the best!
