Eyebrows have become a beauty playground, with social media fueling trends from unicorn horns to fishtails. Just when it seemed everything had been done, halo brows made their entrance.
This bold look—an arc connecting both brows into a full loop—was created by 16-year-old British influencer Hannah Lyne. Inspired by the fishtail trend, she debuted halo brows on Instagram, saying it came from a spontaneous idea during a chat with a friend.
“It wasn’t a joke,” she told Pop Sugar, aiming to encourage playful, creative self-expression. “I want people to embrace being silly.”
The trend quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions. Some praised Lyne’s originality and talent, calling the look “creative” and “gorgeous.” Others weren’t so kind, calling it “ridiculous” and mocking it as the next “Instaregret.”
Still, Cosmopolitan dubbed halo brows “strangely beautiful,” proving once again that beauty norms are constantly evolving—especially online.
