My Landlord Made Me Host His Family for Thanksgiving Dinner, Then Billed Me for Damages They Caused

Imagine being forced to host a Thanksgiving dinner you never agreed to, only to get slapped with a hefty bill for the damage. That’s what happened when my landlord, Greg, asked me to host his family because his house was under renovation. Despite my refusal, he cited a lease clause and convinced me to comply.

The day was a disaster. His family of 20, including kids and a dog, trashed my home. The garden was ruined, my couch stained, and my kitchen faucet broken. Greg didn’t seem to care, laughing it off while I cleaned up for days.

A week later, Greg sent me a $1,300 bill for the damages. Furious, I called him, but he refused to take responsibility. Instead of accepting defeat, I exposed him online, posting honest reviews about his unreasonable demands and the damage caused by his family.

Greg panicked, desperate to remove the reviews. He agreed to cancel the bill, and soon after, showed up with a $1,500 check to cover the damages. He apologized, and I knew he’d learned his lesson. Revenge was sweet, served cold—just like leftover Thanksgiving dinner.
